How to migrate a CollabNet Subversion server to another server and another version. In my case I went from Oracle Solaris 10 to Redhat Linux 5.8 and this method worked. Basically the version of csvn and the O/S version or possibly even the type (Windows, Unix) does not matter since its all ASCII text.

This will copy over your Userlist (assuming .htpasswd method), your access rulles , your Repositories and use the Dsciovery button on your respositories folder to find the repositories. I did with a fresh install of CollabNet Subversion Edge server 3.2.2 on a Redhat server.

Script for migrating csvn 1.1 to 3.2.2:

http://svn.ke3vin.org/filedetails.php?repname=kevininscoe&path=%2Fscripts%2Fmigrate_collabnet_edge_subversion.sh

  1. You have to rsync the data/repositories directories and everything under it
  2. You have to first shutdown the remote csvn server and then copy the following files:
  • data/conf/svn_auth_file
  • data/conf/svn_access_file
  • data/csvn-production-hsqldb.script

Now start the remote server
